The 2011 Shockwaves NME Awards took place last night.

Unfortunately, the Booshniverse did not go home with any awards. Noel Fielding was nominated for “Most Stylish” but instead the title went to Brandon Flowers. “Best TV Show” was won by Skins, leaving Never Mind the Buzzcocks empty-handed.

Both Noel Fielding and Matt Berry attended the award ceremony where they presented the award for “Best New Band”. You can see the full winner’s list over at NME. The awards will be televised on Saturday 26 February, 11.25 AM on Channel 4.

Absolute Radio caught up with Fielding on the red carpet and discussed the future plans for The Mighty Boosh. You can see the video over at Youtube or right here.

Hee! The Boosh want to come to America the same year the Olympics are in London. That’s a good plan for getting out of Dodge before the masses descend.

I am disappointed that there are still no signs of releasing the album or making the film, I think they are stretching the patience and loyalty of all us Boosh fans.

They can wait however long they need to to make sure it is spectacular. I know that I, and all other Boosh fans, will be eagerly waiting :)

I think it’s good they are taking a break from the Boosh for awhile. It gives them time to think up really good ideas for it, so the Boosh can be at it’s best. The Future Sailors tour felt way to rushed, they should have left that for a good year so they could have written better material.
