A trailer for Missing Scene, the new comedy pilot featuring Alice Lowe and The Actor, Kevin Eldon is now visable on Youtube.

The show, which we first told you about back in March, is the brainchild of writers David Bussell, Ben Ricketts and Matthew Stott, and was originally intended to for non-broadcast use only.  This teaser’s visibility suggests either a broadcaster has been found, or that the pilot will be available online soon.

As soon as we here at The Velvet Onion find out further details, we’ll be sure to let you know.  In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below, and keep your eye on Matthew Stott’s blog, The World Won’t Listen or the Missing Scene Facebook page.

“Mighty Boosh Ate My Hamster!”

Today's news....

Whilst it’s seemingly fairly quiet on the Boosh front, we’re naturally recieving inquiries about recent articles published in a popular British newspaper concerning one of the key figures we feature on our pages.

At first, we elected as a group not to broach the subject on The Velvet Onion, but as the enquiries keep coming, our resident peeler Moggems has prepared us this witty summary of recent “stories” in the world of the pointy one, which we felt worth revisiting.

‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾

Here at the Velvet Onion we pride ourselves on bringing you news from the Booshniverse based on facts. Some news providers, however, prefer not to restrict themselves to things that are actually happening.

And why not, when reality can be so disappointingly mundane? So, as there’s not a lot of Boosh news that’s really happening at the moment, we thought we’d bring you a round-up of the Boosh-related ‘news’ stories that are complete tosh, all brought to you by Britain’s best-loved tabloid…

A Gothic Call To Arms

19 Apr

© Talkback Thames / Channel 4

The official Twitter page for The IT Crowd production office, @ITCrowdSupport, is asking fans to submit pictures of themselves dressed as wholesome goths, for use in a future episode.

The team are quick to point out that unlike the recent call for geek photos on their Twitter page, this is not a call for extras, but for set dressing to be used in the show. Whether this means the show’s resident goth, Richmond will return afterall remains to be seen, but rest assured, if we hear any news on Noel Fielding making a comeback to the show we’ll keep you posted.

You can email your photos to the team at itcgoths@gmail.com until Thursday, 22nd April.

Alice Lowe and Tom Meeten are to star in a forthcoming short film Dead Happy, to be broadcast on Sky Movies this summer.

The short – set to air in June – is the brainchild of writer David Lemon and director Nicky Lianos, and has been funded via a Sky Movies competition to find fresh new British talent.  In it, we learn what it would be like if The Grim Reaper was a regular 9-5 job, and how one would cope with her unrequited love for another.

Also starring is David Bussell, who recently completed a non-broadcast pilot for a sketch show with Alice Lowe & The Actor, Kevin Eldon, entitled Missing Scene.

You can see interviews with both Davids, Nicky and other members of the crew online now on the Sky Movies website as part of an edition of The Movie GeekClick here, and skip to 5 minutes 55 seconds in to see the short making of feature.  For more info, join the Dead Happy Facebook Group, and keep on peeling.
