Waxing Lyrical

Noel Fielding has been announced as one of the acts of the bill when Comedy Nights returns to the Lyric Theatre, London this summer.

The launch night, on June 27th, will be hosted by legendary comic Richard Herring, and also features Tom Basden and Tim Key (of Newswipe fame).

Tickets, priced £10 and £15 are available now, and selling very fast indeed.  Buy some here.

Zimbani

Julian Barratt has filmed a part for new comedy pilot, Zimbani.

Comedian Colin Hoult (Russell Howard’s Good News, Comedy Shuffle etc) posted an image on his Facebook page from the pilot, which is being filmed for digital channel Dave.  The sketch show also stars David McNeill (seen in the photo with Barratt & Hoult), and may be broadcast as early as next month.

As soon as we hear a transmission date, we’ll let you know.  For the time being, you can join the Zimbani Facebook group for more info.

She’s With The Band

Rich Fulcher has been interviewed by Australian newspaper The Age, in preparation for his forthcoming appearances as Eleanor The Tour Whore at the Melbourne Comedy Festival next week.

You can read the fascinating interview, which covers Fulcher’s work with the Boosh, the inspiration for Eleanor and the unusual way he entered the world of comedy over at The Age’s website.

Tickets for An Audience With Eleanor The Tour Whore are still on sale.  The show, directed by Dave Brown, who is flying out to Oz tomorrow to help Rich stage the show, will be at the Victoria Hotel in Melbourne for a four week residency starting March 25th.

Hot Brew

The stars of the recent JackalFilms project Roots are joining forces once again.

Alice Lowe is teaming up with Circulus member Antony Elvin (whom you may have seen in series three of The Mighty Boosh) to ‘reform’ the band Hot Brew who featured in the comedy short last month.

The duo play their first gig together at the The Fix, Camden Head on Friday May 21st.  More info can be found at the group’s new Facebook page.
